At Rush City Schools, our students thrive thanks to our exceptional educators, state-of-the-art facilities, supportive parents, and a caring community. Most importantly, we take pride in our respectful and multi-talented student body. Rush City Schools is a remarkable place to learn and grow, and we are excited to exceed your expectations!

The Rush City School District #139 is a comprehensive district covering Pre-K through Grade 12, conveniently located just 50 miles north of Minneapolis/St. Paul along the I-35 Corridor. Nestled 10 miles west of the picturesque St. Croix River, our community boasts an 18-hole golf course and offers year-round fishing at beautiful Rush Lake and an aquatic center.

Our school system thrives on strong community support, enabling us to provide innovative educational programs within modern facilities. We have a strong tradition of excellence in academics, athletics, and the fine arts. Rush City Schools is deeply committed to maintaining this excellence by promoting quality instruction through continuous staff development, fostering open communication between staff, parents, and the community, and offering a wide range of educational opportunities for our students.

Serving around 900 students, our district is staffed by 60 dedicated teachers and 22 Para professionals. We operate from two beautiful buildings: CE Jacobson Elementary (Early Childhood to Grade 6), which was remodeled and expanded in 2003, and Rush City High School (Grades 7 to 12), constructed in 1993. Both facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art technology to enhance the learning experience.

Our school grounds are impressive, featuring the Aquatic/Recreation Center, Andy Saloka Field, Bill West Track, three separate playgrounds, tennis courts, and numerous softball and baseball fields. Inclusive education is a cornerstone of our district, with both schools offering comprehensive services for students with special needs, supported by highly qualified specialists through the St. Croix River Education District (SCRED).

High school students have the opportunity to earn college credits in various subjects, and we offer unique ITV classes for those interested in specialized courses. Our elective offerings span art, band, business education, choir, FACS, foreign language, and technology education, showcasing the diverse opportunities available to Rush City Schools students.
