Rush City School Board Vacancy Announcement

Dear Rush City Community Members,

There will be a vacancy on the Rush City School Board of Education and we are seeking a dedicated and passionate community member to fill this interim position through December 31, 2025.

Requirements to Hold Office:

• At least 21 years of age

• U.S. Citizen and eligible to vote

• Resident of School District #139 for at least 30 days

• No record of criminal sexual misconduct for which registration is required

Important Information:

• Application End Date: July 29, 2024, 11:59 PM

• Interviews will be scheduled on the evening of August 13, 2024

• •  You must be available virtually or preferably in person

• The School Board will appoint the new member at their regularly scheduled board meeting on August 15, 2024

• If available, the newly elected member will be invited to attend the board retreat on August 18, 2024

Rush City School Board

The local school board acts on behalf of the people of the community to translate an education mission into reality. 

Independent School District #139 is governed by a six-member school board, elected by the public through an odd-year election process, serving four-year terms. Regular School Board monthly meetings are typically held on the third Thursday of each month at 6:00 pm.  Work Sessions are scheduled for the first Thursday of each month at 6:00 pm.  School Board meetings are open to the public and you are encouraged to attend. To have an item placed on the Board agenda for discussion, please contact the District Office at 320-358-4855 at least five days prior to the meeting.
